Symptoms of Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is often considered an arthritis type of condition. It is not actually a form of arthritis because it does not cause inflammation or damage to the joints, muscles, or other tissues. Fibromyalgia can cause significant pain and fatigue, like arthritus, and it can interfere with a person's ability to del with everday activities. Fibromyalgia is considered a rheumatic condition, as is arthritus.

Fibromyalgia Symptoms include:

  • pain and fatigue
  • headaches
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • sleep disturbances
  • temperature sensitivity
  • morning stiffness
  • painful menstrual periods
  • numbness or tingling of the extremities
  • restless legs syndrome
  • cognitive and memory problems
