Acupuncture for Fibromyalgia
Acupuncture can help to help Fibromylagia patients by treating the
body as a whole and targetting the possible . Acupuncture, originating
in ancient China, uses very fine needles to treat various "systems
of function". The acupuncture practitioner uses points to treat
meridians (or pathways) throughout your body and restoring the balance
of yin and yang. Tender Points, known as Ah Shi in acupuncture, can
also be used to treat local pain in Fibromylagia patients.
There are many channels that connect to form pathways. Pain is theorized
to be caused by a blockage in the flow of an energy force called 'qi'
through the pathways. By unblocking the qi and allowing it to flow throughout
the body overall health is improved and any associated pain is relieved.
This unblocking of qi can be felt and is called 'deqi'
